The archaeological section of the ancient age consists of finds from Amiternum, Aveia and Peltuinum, important Italic and Roman centres in the L’Aquila basin, including the Amiternino Calendar (circa 20 AD) and stone reliefs depicting a gladiatorial combat (1st century BC) and a funeral ceremony (1st century AD).
