Description
The panel was donated by Silvestro di Tancredi de Scalis da Sulmona, stepson of the rich merchant from L’Aquila Iacopo di notar Nanni, to Cristina da Lucoli, Sister of the Augustinian monastery of Santa Lucia in Aquila where she entered in 1505. The holy nun to the right of the bishop represents Catherine of Siena painted en pendant with Catherine of Alexandria at the right end of the group.
