On Sunday, October 13, the National Museum of Abruzzo is participating in the “Families at the Museum” initiative, organizing guided tours of the Mammoth for families with children and young people at 11:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m.
The theme for 2024 is environmental sustainability, which will be presented during the guided tours in relation to the ecological importance of Asian elephants (Elephas maximus, more closely related to the genus Mammuthus), African savannah elephants (Loxodonta africana), and African forest elephants, which contribute to the conservation of their ecosystem’s biodiversity and are also at risk of extinction due to poaching.
The limited-capacity guided tours are free and included in the admission price.
