Description

Wooden sculpture attributed to an anonymous master, conventionally named after a piece once held in the Turin collection of Riccardo Gualino. His Madonnas are recognisible by recurring facial features: an elongated oval face, thin lips, and a sharp, pointed nose. As with other Madonna and Child groups by this master, this Marian ensemble was likely housed within a tabernacle with painted, movable wings.
