On December 1st, the Ministry of Culture’s “Domenica al Museo” initiative, which provides free admission to all state cultural sites every first Sunday of the month, will be held again.

The Borgo Rivera branch of the National Museum of Abruzzo, the east bastion of the 16th-century castle with its display of the fossilized mammoth skeleton, and the Amiternum Archaeological Park will be open to the public during the following hours:

  • Borgo Rivera branch of the National Museum of Abruzzo from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm, with last admission at 7:00 pm;
  • east bastion of the castle from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with last admission at 5:30 pm;
  • Amphitheater of the Amiternum Archaeological Park from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm (free admission).

Visitors are advised that the Theater of the Amiternum Archaeological Park will be closed.

The exhibition “Between Form and Figure. Fulvio Muzi and Experimental Painting in the 1960s” will be open until December 8, 2024, at the Borgo Rivera site.
Curated by Federica Zalabra and Paolo Muzi, in collaboration with the “ArteImmagine Fulvio Muzi” Association, the exhibition pays homage to Fulvio Muzi (1915-1984) forty years after his death, presenting him as a key figure in the 20th-century artistic and cultural landscape of Abruzzo.

The National Museum of Abruzzo in L’Aquila, aiming to pursue a gradual process to ensure the elimination of obstacles to the full enjoyment of its museums and their contents, and in particular to support cultural activities in sign language (LIS), is organizing a guided tour in sign language (LIS) of the exhibition “Between Form and Figure. Fulvio Muzi and Experimental Painting in the 1960s” on December 1st at 11:00 a.m., on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Sofia Leocata, a tour guide and sign language interpreter, will lead a guided tour of the exhibition in sign language (LIS) curated by Federica Zalabra and Paolo Muzi, aimed at deaf people, at 11:00 a.m. on December 1st.

The tour is designed for a maximum of 20 people; if more people register, a second tour will be held after the 11:00 a.m. tour.
