From January 13th to April 7th, 2025, the National Museum of Abruzzo in L’Aquila will also be open on Mondays, its usual closing day, offering two guided tours: at 10:30 a.m. for school groups and at 4:30 p.m. for residents and tourists wishing to discover or rediscover the current exhibition at the Borgo Rivera site.
In addition to a selection of archaeological finds from the sites of the Amiternum Theater and Amphitheater, as well as sculptures, goldsmith works, and paintings from the Middle Ages to the 19th century, visitors can admire the MuNDA’s latest acquisition, the Dragonetti De Torres Triptych, a work by the painter Antoniazzo Romano (1453/40-1508) and his collaborator, depicting the Madonna and Child Enthroned between Saints John the Baptist and Mary Magdalene, executed around 1490, and the work on loan from the Bargello National Museum, The Annunciation by Walter Monich, a sculptural group executed around 1410-1415, carved in Majella stone, which consists of two separate sections representing the Announcing Angel and the Virgin Annunciate.
Guided tours are free and included in the admission ticket.
