The outcome of the international public selection for the appointment of director of ten Italian museums was announced on Friday evening. Among the candidates for the directorship of the National Museum of Abruzzo in L’Aquila selected and evaluated by the Commission, prof. Massimo Osanna, General Director of the Museums, has identified Federica Zalabra, our Managing Director, Regional Director of Museums Abruzzo and Regional Secretary for Abruzzo ad interim.
Graduated from La Sapienza and specialized at the University of Florence, former Director of Palazzo Alteri and Villa Giustiniani – museums belonging to the Lazio Regional Museums Directorate – and Head of the “Promotion and dissemination of Italian heritage abroad” organizational unit of the General Directorate of Museums, she has been in service at the Ministry of Culture since 2010 as an art historian official and among her numerous roles she has held that of head of the collections of the National Gallery of Umbria, of Art historian inspector of the Superintendence of Umbria and official at the Central Institute for Restoration. He is director of works and RUP of national and international restorations and valorization projects and curator of temporary exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
