In 2024, in addition to #domenicalmuseo (12 days a year), the Ministry of Culture has also scheduled three additional dates with free admission to cultural sites: April 25, June 2, and November 4.
This year, June 2, marking the anniversary of the birth of the Republic when, on June 2, 1946, Italians were called to the polls to choose the institutional form (monarchy or republic) and to elect members of the Constituent Assembly, coincides with the Ministry of Culture’s “Domenica al museo” initiative, which provides free admission to all state-owned cultural sites on the first Sunday of every month.
The Borgo Rivera branch of the National Museum of Abruzzo and the east bastion of the 16th-century Castle, which houses the fossilized mammoth skeleton,
are open to the public during the following hours:
- Borgo Rivera branch of the National Museum of Abruzzo from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with last admission at 7:00 p.m.;
- the east bastion of the Castle from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with last admission at 6:00 p.m.
