Description

The panel, likely originally the central part of a now dismembered polyptych – whose side panels depicted figures of saints –, shows the Virgin Adoring the Child, seated on a voluted throne against a gilded background. It is framed by a gilded lowered arch supported by twisted columns on either side, while the upper part of the frame is decorated with a starry sky. The artwork, attributed to an artist originating from Campli (Teramo), features halos, borders, and vegetal festoons engraved and punched in gold.
