Description

Christ appears to Bernardino da Fossa and his companion in the guise of a pilgrim, as he did to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. The attribution to Francesco di Paolo da Montereale is certain, but the rough execution of certain details, such as the left foot, allows to hypothesise the presence of assistants. The inscription at the bottom bears the name of the commissioner, Girolamo da Fossa.
