The two museum locations of the National Museum of Abruzzo will remain open as follows during the Christmas, New Year and Epiphany holidays:
the east bastion of the Castle, which houses the exhibition of the fossil skeleton of the Mammoth, will be open:
- on December 25th from 9am to 1pm (last entry at 12.30pm)
- on December 26th from 9.30am to 6.30pm (last entry at 6pm)
- on 27 and 28 December from 10.30am to 6.30pm (last entry at 6pm)
- on December 29th from 1.30pm to 6.30pm (last entry at 6pm)
- on 30 and 31 December from 9.30am to 6.30pm (last entry at 6pm)
- on January 1st from 10am to 6pm (last entry at 5.30pm)
- from 2 to 7 January from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm (last entry at 6 pm)

The MuNDA headquarters located in via Tancredi da Pentima (former slaughterhouse) will be closed on 25 December and 1 January.
The Museum and the exhibition Giulio Cesare and Francesco Bedeschini. Drawing and invention in L’Aquila in the seventeenth century can be visited from 26 to 31 December and from 2 to 6 January from 8.30 am to 7.30 pm (last entry at 7 pm).
On 7 January 2024, both exhibition venues of the National Museum of Abruzzo for the Sunday at the Museum initiative will be open to the public with free admission.
The ticket is unique and valid for the same day visit to the east bastion and the National Museum of Abruzzo located in Via Tancredi da Pentima, except on 25 December and 1 January, when only the east bastion of the Castle will be open.
