Mammut evening openings for the Medieval Cities Festival

Index

From Friday, June 27th to Sunday, June 29th, 2025, the National Museum of Abruzzo – L’Aquila will participate in the third edition of the Festival of Medieval Cities, organized by the University of L’Aquila and the Municipality of L’Aquila.

During the three Festival dates, it will be possible to visit the Mammoth of the Castello cinquecentesco, in addition to the usual daytime hours from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm (last admission at 6:30 pm), and also from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, with last admission at 10:30 pm.

During the three-day Festival, whose theme is “Medieval Cities and Food,” L’Aquila will become the stage for a major historical dissemination event, where scholars, journalists, artists, and researchers from across Europe will gather to discuss the medieval city, its evolution, and its rebirth. A journey from the Mediterranean to Europe to discover how the past can help us imagine the city of the future.

The event is organized by the University of L’Aquila and the Municipality of L’Aquila, under the scientific direction of UnivAQ professors Amedeo Feniello and Alfonso Forgione.

Visitors are advised that the MuNDA headquarters on Via Tancredi da Pentima, across from the Rivera Fountain, will be closed in the evenings.

Here are some guidelines for your visit:
Tickets purchased to visit the mammoth during special evening openings are valid only during those hours.
Visitors who visit the Borgo Rivera headquarters during daytime openings can access the east bastion during special evening openings.
