Saturday 23 May will see the 21st edition of European Museum Night: the Museo Nazionale d’Abruzzo is taking part in the initiative with a special evening opening from 7 pm to 11 pm (ticket office closes at 10 pm) at the symbolic price of €1.
The free admission provisions laid down by law will be observed.
Guided tours led by museum staff are scheduled for 8 pm and 9 pm, with no booking required and subject to availability.
The European Night of Museums has been organised since 2005 by the French Ministry of Culture, specifically by the Regional Directorates for Cultural Affairs (DRAC), and is supported by UNESCO, the Council of Europe and ICOM France, with the aim of encouraging and promoting awareness of national and European cultural heritage and identity.
The initiative takes place simultaneously across Europe on the Saturday evening closest to International Museum Day (ICOM) on 18 May, to which it is also linked conceptually.
