Daytime Events
On September 26 and 27, the National Museum of Abruzzo (MUNDA) invites the public to celebrate European Heritage Days. This year’s theme is “Protecting Heritage: Renewing, Resisting, Reinventing,” and the event marks the final opportunity to visit the exhibition The Visitation in L’Aquila: Raphael and Pontormo.
On September 26 and 27, the MUNDA sites will be open as follows:

9:00 AM – 7:00 PM (last admission at 6:00 PM) - Amiternum Archaeological Park
September 26: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
September 27: 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM
On September 26, visitors can join two free guided tours of the Amiternum amphitheater—at 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM—with admission subject to the standard entrance fee.
Evening Events
On Saturday, September 26, the 16th-century Castle venue will open for a special evening session from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with the last entry at 10:00 PM.
At 7:30 PM, the museum will host a piano recital titled “Charming Notes from MuNDA,” performed by Kazakh pianist Madina Zupianna.
With this musical event, the National Museum of Abruzzo (MuNDA) is participating in the International Peace Music Festival. Launched this year, the festival is a celebration dedicated to spreading the values of peace through music.
It benefits from the prestigious collaboration of AIPFM (Italian Association for the Promotion of the Festa della Musica), an organization that has promoted the universal value of music in Italy for over thirty years and spearheaded the success of the renowned Festa della Musica held on June 21st.
The event is part of a project to showcase the National Museum of Abruzzo, conceived by the museum’s management for the 2026 European Heritage Days.
The piano recital is organized by the non-profit cultural association “L’Aquila Siamo Noi,” which has been dedicated since 2009 to highlighting the artistic, musical, and architectural excellence of the city of L’Aquila through the development of international cultural relationships and collaborations.
The concert program features a refined blend of classical music pieces, famous film scores, and international pop hits.
Pianist Madina Zupianna was born in Semey, Kazakhstan.
She began studying the piano at the age of five; at seventeen, she continued her studies in France, earning a diploma from the CRR in Paris (Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris).
A winner of various international competitions, she has performed in France, Austria, the United Kingdom, and Kazakhstan. Her concert performances include prestigious venues such as the Salle Pleyel, Salle Cortot, and Salle Gaveau in Paris, as well as the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Madina Zupianna’s repertoire spans a wide range of musical styles—from masterpieces by great classical composers to contemporary popular works—presented through her own distinctive piano interpretations.
Her artistry combines virtuosity, profound musical expressiveness, and a refined sense of style, forging a vivid and moving connection with her audience.
