The National Museum of Abruzzo – L’Aquila is participating in the 10th edition of Italian Jazz for the Earthquake Lands, the event that has brought and continues to bring the largest and most important representation of Italian jazz to the city of L’Aquila and the regions affected by the 2016 earthquake. This event is a living testament to how culture and live performances contribute significantly to building and strengthening local communities.
This is precisely the theme that inspired the three artistic directors who worked in 2024 (Francesco Diodati, Gabriele Mitelli, and Ugo Viola) on the Abitare il suono edition, aware of how music becomes an exploration and a meeting place, an active guide for rediscovering the city and the paths that animate it.
The 2024 edition will again feature over 300 artists, approximately 60 events and concerts in total, 15 venues, and an expected 20,000 spectators.
The “Art Harmonies” project, aimed at offering visitors to the Mammoth at the National Museum of Abruzzo – L’Aquila an immersive experience that allows them to explore the evocative atmosphere of the site through musical performances designed to enhance the unique acoustics, will take place in the eastern bastion of the 16th-century Castle of L’Aquila (Viale Benedetto Croce) over two days with the following program:
