September 23, 2026. Today, the National Museum of Abruzzo celebrates its 75th anniversary.
The institution was inaugurated on September 23, 1951, within the halls of the Castello conquecentesco of L’Aquila, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Luigi Einaudi.
To mark this significant occasion, MUNDA will be open to visitors not only during regular hours (9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with last entry at 6:00 PM) but also in the evening from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
During the evening opening, two free guided tours—requiring standard admission—of the exhibition “The Visitation in L’Aquila: Raphael and Pontormo” will be offered to the public. These tours will be led by art historian Daniele Lauri at 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM.
Participation in the tours is subject to availability.
