The National Museum of Abruzzo in L’Aquila is extending its public opening hours throughout September, significantly increasing opportunities for families, residents, tourists, associations, and school groups to visit the museum and the exhibition The Visitation in L’Aquila: Raphael and Pontormo, which runs until September 27.
In addition to the regular Tuesday-to-Sunday schedule (9:00am – 7:00pm, with last entry at 6:00pm), the Museum will also be open on the following Mondays—days when it is usually closed to the public:
- 07/09/2026: 10:00am – 5:30pm (last entry at 5:00pm)
- 14/09/2026: 10:00am – 5:30pm (last entry at 5:00pm)
- 21/09/2026: 10:00am – 5:30pm (last entry at 5:00pm)
Evening openings are also returning, with special hours on the following dates:
- 05/09/2026: 7:00pm – 10:30pm (last entry at 10:00pm)
- 06/09/2026: 7:00pm – 10:30pm (last entry at 10:00pm)
- 11/09/2026: 7:00pm – 9:30pm (last entry at 9:00pm)
- 25/09/2026: 7:00pm – 10:30pm (last entry at 10:00pm)
- 26/09/2026: 7:00pm – 10:30pm (last entry at 10:00pm), with a symbolic admission fee of €1.00 (excluding statutory free admissions).
In September, the Amiternum Archaeological Park will be open to the public during the following hours:
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday: 8:30am – 1:30pm
- Friday: 2:30pm – 7:30pm
Additionally, the Amiternum Theatre and Amphitheatre can be visited on September 6 (as part of the “Sunday at the Museum” initiative) and on Sunday, September 13, from 8:30am to 1:30pm.
On Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, for the 2026 European Heritage Days, the Park will be open during the following hours:
- September 26: 8:30am – 5:30pm
- September 27: 10:30am – 5:30pm
