During the month of August, it will be possible to visit the Mammoth of the 16th-century Castle on special days and at special times.
On the days when the state museums are closed in August (Mondays 5, 12, 19, and 26), the Castle’s east bastion will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (last admission at 5:30 p.m.).
During the 730th edition of the Celestine Forgiveness on August 27, 28, 29, and 30, it will be possible to visit the Mammoth not only during the usual daytime hours of 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (last admission at 6:30 p.m.), but also from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with last admission scheduled for 10:30 p.m.
The MuNDA headquarters located on Via Tancredi da Pentima, opposite the Fontana della Rivera, will be closed both on Mondays and in the evenings.
Here are some guidelines for your visit:
- The ticket for visiting the mammoth during the special daytime and evening openings is valid only on the day of purchase.
- Visitors entering the Borgo Rivera branch during daytime openings can access the east bastion during the special evening openings.
- Due to the Borgo Rivera branch’s closing time at 7:00 PM, visitors purchasing tickets at the Castello Cinquecento ticket office after 5:00 PM are not guaranteed entry to the two museums.
