The eastern bastion of the Castle, which houses the fossil skeleton of the mammoth, will be open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm (last admission at 6:30 pm).

The Mammoth will also be open to visitors during the following special daytime and evening openings:

July:
4, 5, 6, and 7 from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM (last admission at 10:30 PM), in conjunction with the 2nd edition of the Medieval Cities Festival
August:
5, 12, 19, and 26 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last admission at 5:30 PM)
27, 28, 29, and 30 from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM (last admission at 10:30 PM), in conjunction with the 730th edition of the Celestine Forgiveness

The combined ticket is valid for a single-day visit to the eastern bastion and the National Museum of Abruzzo – L’Aquila, located on Via Tancredi da Pentima. The museum is open to the public during the following hours:
Tuesday to Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (last admission at 7 p.m.).
Single ticket: €7 full price, €2 reduced price for those aged 18-25, and free for children under 18.
On July 7, August 4, and September 1, admission will be free as part of “Domenica al museo,” a Ministry of Culture initiative that allows free admission to state museums and archaeological parks on the first Sunday of every month.
Tickets for the National Museum of Abruzzo can be purchased directly at the ticket office or on the Italian Museums portal at www.museiitaliani.it or on the Musei Italiani app.
