Visitors are advised that from Tuesday, May 21st to Friday, May 24th, the National Museum of Abruzzo has scheduled operations to measure the weight of panel paintings and sculptures. This will help design the hangers for the works, elastic sliding systems for anchoring them to the walls, and earthquake-proof bases for the statues. These operations will be carried out prior to the reorganization of the collections in the rooms of the 16th-century castle. All operations will be supervised by Professor Roberto Ciabattoni, restorer, head of the Physics and Environmental Controls Laboratory at the Istituto Superiore Centrale di Restauro, university professor, and professor at the ISCR School of Advanced Training and Study.
Each room of the National Museum of Abruzzo involved will be closed to the public alternately to allow for the scheduled activities.
