On March 3rd, the Ministry of Culture’s “Domenica al Museo” initiative, which provides free admission to all state cultural sites on the first Sunday of every month, will be held again.
Domenica al Museo in March 2024 is the last opportunity for visitors to visit the exhibition “Giulio Cesare e Francesco Bedeschini. Disegno e invenzione in L’Aquila nel Seicento” (Julius Caesar and Francesco Bedeschini. Drawing and Invention in L’Aquila in the Seventeenth Century). On the last day of its opening to the public, the National Museum of Abruzzo and the eastern bastion of the 16th-century castle, featuring the mammoth fossil skeleton, will be open.
At the National Museum of Abruzzo, at 4:30 pm, a guided tour of the exhibition “Giulio Cesare e Francesco Bedeschini. Disegno e invenzione in L’Aquila in the Seventeenth Century” will take place, curated by Atlante servizi culturali.

Public opening hours for the two museums:

  • National Museum of Abruzzo from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with last admission at 7:00 p.m.
  • East Bastion of the Castle from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with last admission at 6:00 p.m.
