European Archaeological Days at the National Museum of Abruzzo in L’Aquila

The National Museum of Abruzzo in L’Aquila is organizing a series of engaging activities for the European Archaeology Days, promoted since 2019 by INRAP (National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research) under the aegis of the French Ministry of Culture, with the patronage of the Council of Europe:

On June 14th, at 10:00 am and 11:30 am, two free guided tours led by archaeologist Alessandro Delfino will take place at the Roman Theater of Amiternum. Admission to the Roman Theater is free.

On June 15th and 16th, an educational tour of the Mammoth will take place in the eastern bastion of L’Aquila Castle. The tours will be held at the following times:

10:30 am; 11:30 am; 4:00 pm; 5:00 pm.

The ticket for admission to the east bastion of the Castle is valid for a single visit to the east bastion and the National Museum of Abruzzo, located on Via Tancredi da Pentima, on the same day. The museum is open to the public during the following hours:

Tuesday to Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (last admission at 7:00 p.m.).

Reservations

Reservations are required for visits to the Roman Theater of Amiternum on June 14th by emailing mn-abr.urp@cultura.gov.it.

Tickets

Single ticket: full price €7, reduced price €2 for those aged 18-25, free for those under 18.

Tickets for the National Museum of Abruzzo can be purchased directly at the ticket office or on the Italian Museums portal at museiitaliani.it or on the Musei Italiani app  museiitaliani.it
