Restoration Thursdays. The restoration of Andrea Delitio’s Madonna Enthroned and Matteo da Campli’s Madonna Adoring the Child

Index

As part of the “Restoration Thursdays” series of meetings, on March 6th at 4:30 pm, restorers Cristiana De Lisio and Alessia Felici of Recro srl will illustrate the multidisciplinary restoration practices they performed on two panel paintings: Andrea Delitio’s “Madonna Enthroned” and “Madonna Adoring the Child Crowned by Two Angels and the Mystical Marriage of Saint Catherine” by Matteo da Campli. These paintings will be exhibited again in July 2024 at the Museo Nazionale d’Abruzzo in L’Aquila.

Recro srl was founded in July 2008 by cultural heritage restorers Cristiana De Lisio and Alessia Felici, both trained at the Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro (IsCR). After years of close collaboration and shared valuable and formative experiences, they now operate across a broad spectrum, restoring decorated surfaces of architectural heritage, stone artifacts, mural paintings, paintings on canvas, paintings on paper, paintings on wood or other materials, stucco, mosaics, painted and unpainted plaster, multi-material artifacts, polychrome and non-polychrome wooden artifacts, bone, ivory, and wax artifacts, ceramic and glass artifacts, metal and alloy artifacts, materials and artifacts made of natural and man-made fibers, leather and hide artifacts, and musical instruments.

At the end of the presentation, which will be attended by MuNDA Director Federica Zalabra, art historian Daniele Lauri will lead a guided tour of the restored works.
