Painted by a local artist showing influences from early Renaissance models of the Umbrian area, the polyptych consists of eleven panels joined together by a wooden framework of still late Gothic structure, recently restored with the reintegration of the original small pilasters.
6The Madonna with Child enthroned is flanked by the archangels Gabriel and Michael, followed by the Saints Augustine and Sebastian on the outer panels. The cusps above display music-making angels on either side, while at the centre an angel holds a crown in its hands. In the predella the apostles appear alongside angels bearing baskets of fruit. The style of the panel is noticeably more updated, reflecting the innovations introduced by the paintings of Perugino, Pinturicchio, and Signorelli, especially evident in the figure of Saint Sebastian.
